Another useful trick to ensure that the combat log is always running without any manual action is to download this weak aura. It’ll automatically start logging each time you enter a raid.

Otherwise, you would need to type /combatlog in-game each time before the raid even starts. The downside of this method is that if you experience a crash, reload, or relog, you will have to remember to type it again.

4. Archive the logs

After you’ve finished the raid, find the logs in the WoW Log Folder: WoW/Logs/WoWCombatLog.txt

To archive the logs, right-click on the WoWCombatLog ➜ 7-Zip ➜ Add to WoWCombatLog.7z

Once you are finished, simply drag the .7z Combat Log File to your desktop for easy access. Also, delete or rename the WoWCombatLog text file in your Log file (trust me, you’ll thank me later).

But first, let me introduce myself. I own two blogs in different niches: 9 Tailed Kitsune, an anime blog, and Geeky GF, an everything-geeky blog.

Now, Geeky GF is a new blog so I haven’t explored the social media potential yet but 9 Tailed Kitsune has been around for more than 3 years, so I had time to experiment and grow my social media purely organically to a significant size:

• Facebook with over 54 000 followers
• Pinterest with over 48 000 followers
• Instagram with over 10 000 followers

I started growing my Facebook and Instagram late in the game but I quickly learned that you can reach hundreds of thousands of people through Facebook groups. So, I started creating various Facebook groups related to my niche (anime). As of 2023, I have more than 25 Facebook groups that I grew without paying a single penny. The most successful ones are in the range of 10 000 to 80 000 members, and there are more than 10 of those.

Here are my 10 fail-proof tips on how to grow a Facebook group from scratch!

10. Enable Automatic Invites

Let me start by saying that you should have a New Page Experience instead of a Classic Page, as that delivers a revamped page layout and interface that is cleaner and a lot more user-friendly. Also, such a page acts as a separate profile. As a result, you don’t confuse it anymore with your personal profile.

I always create my Facebook groups directly from my Page profile so I don’t have to link anything since I’m automatically the owner and admin of the group. But if your Page is not the admin of the group yet, make sure to switch to a New Page Experience if you haven’t already had it, join the group and make your Page an admin of the group from your personal profile.

To make your Facebook Page an admin of a group, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Facebook group where you want to add your Page as an admin.
2. Click on the Members tab to view the list of group members.
3. Search for the name of your Facebook Page in the search bar at the top of the screen.
4. Once you find your Page in the search results, click on the three dots next to its name.
5. From the dropdown menu, select Add as Admin.
6. Switch to your Facebook Page profile, and go to the Community tab of the group.
7. Look for the group invitation, and accept it to confirm that you want to be an admin of the group.

Then all that’s left is to enable automatic invites in your Facebook group:

1. Make sure you are logged in as a Page.
2. Select the Facebook Group you want to invite members to and click on + Invite.
3. Choose Invite Facebook Friends.
4. After the Invite followers to this group window pops up, toggle on Automatic Invites.

All done! Automatic Invites will automatically invite people who follow and engage with your Page.

9. Add a group affiliation

After completing the step above, turn on group affiliation. Again, you can find this setting under Group Settings » Customize Group » Group affiliation. Toggle on Group affiliation and select your group, then click Save.

When learning how to grow a Facebook group, it may appear as though the numbers 10 and 9 won’t matter all that much.

Maybe you are thinking that your Page doesn’t have that many fans or maybe you don’t even have a Page set up yet.

However, having your group and Page linked not only adds credibility to your group but also is a win-win situation since members of your Facebook group can see the Page at the top and might be curious and follow it if they appreciate your content.

8. Turn on various badges

Everyone loves to be rewarded for their efforts. Facebook clearly thought of that when it introduced various badges like:

• Rising star
• Visual storyteller
• Conversation starter
• Founding member
• Valued responder
• Group ambassador

You can add even more badges that allow people to express themselves. Those include the following badges:

• Considering parenthood
• Expecting parent
• Experienced parent
• New parent
• Parent of multiple kids
• Parent of older kid
• Parent of young adult
• Parent of young kid
• Super seller
• Very responsive

Now, it’s up to you and what your Facebook group is when considering badges. I like to keep all the basic ones on for all my groups.

On top of these badges, there is also a little fancy feature called Group expert. As an admin, you can choose Group experts, which is a badge that’s pretty self-explanatory. They are helpful members who know a lot about the group’s topic.

To add a person as a Group expert, simply find the desired member in the Members tab, click on three dots, and then select Add as group expert.

8. Approve posts and member requests in a timely manner

I can’t stress this enough. Most people are impatient creatures and hate to wait.

If you don’t approve posts and member requests frequently, you are not only losing the much-needed engagement in the group but you are also losing already existing members. I mean, who would like to wait 2 weeks before their posts are approved?

7. Make sure that your Facebook group is clean

Always ensure that your Facebook group is in top-notch condition. What that means is that your group is completely free of spam and irrelevant or offensive content. For that, I’ve compiled a few basics Admin Assist rules you can implement. This will save you time and make it way easier to manage your group.

But even with Admin Assist set up properly, check the group frequently for any spam or harmful comments, as it can still happen.

6. Don’t tag @everyone often

I know that one group that tags @everyone almost daily. And this, ladies, and gentlemen, is not how to grow a Facebook group. It’s annoying and spammy, and if you implement the same strategy, this will harm your group in long run.

Instead, tag @everyone only with the most critical and relevant updates and never more often than weekly. I prefer to do it monthly and even then you might receive some negative reactions.

5. Write a quality group description

Writing a good Facebook group description is important for three reasons:

1. Your group will be easily found on Facebook by users.
2. You can be at the top of the Search engine results page like Google.
3. Members are more likely to join if they know what to expect from the group.

For example, when I create a description for a Facebook group that is about a specific anime, I like to naturally include as many keywords as possible.

Then it’s also nice to introduce what the anime is about, which can be easily copied from Wikipedia or another credible source.

By how neat the group description is, it helps potential members decide whether it’s even worth joining the group.

4. Choose a relevant group name

When creating your Facebook group, you must have an idea of what the group is about.

For example, I have a blog called 9 Tailed Kitsune, so I named one of my groups 9 Tailed Kitsune Anime Community. It’s straightforward and there is the keyword “anime” in the title, which sums up what’s the group about.

To conclude, don’t overthink the name, and make it as apt and to the point as you can. The simpler, the better applies here.

3. Welcome new members weekly

Welcoming new members every week is a great way to make them feel welcome, notice the group, and produce a warm atmosphere.

Also, you might have noticed that you can manually welcome new members on a weekly basis.

Did you know, though, that you can now enable this feature in Admin Assist to run automatically and stop worrying about it completely?

To turn on the automatic welcome post:

1. Select the Facebook group where you want to publish it.
2. Head over to the Admin Assist section on the left side of your screen.
3. Scroll down and find Publish a welcome post at the bottom.
4. Click on the Add button.
5. Customize the welcome message.
6. Hit Add to Admin Assist.
7. If needed, you can also choose to tag other admins in the introduction.

A few words about Admin Assist’s Publish a welcome post feature:

• It’s best to let it choose the time automatically as it will select the best time with the most engagement.
• You can customize the message to anything you want but ensure that it makes sense. My niche is entertainment so I can afford playful emojis but it might be completely different in your case.
• I don’t like to tag admins because I have public groups and then people tend to send me PMs but this again depends on the nature of your group.

2. Interact with your members

This is a step tightly tied to the #1 tip.

Reacting to others’ posts and comments, whether it’s by liking them or responding makes your Facebook group members feel like someone cares about what they have to share or say.

However, don’t force it and generate “random” responses. Put some thought into each response so it’s as genuine as it can be.

1. Regularly create and share new posts

The most essential rule when one wants to learn the magic of how to grow a Facebook group organically is to engage with the group. This is immensely important when you are starting as there are not many members yet, so sharing fresh and relevant posts can produce reactions, comments, and even reshares. This is also why I like to keep my Facebook groups public but that’s, again, up to you.

You can also add hashtags to your posts, this can be helpful if you have a public group as this can show when even people outside the group browse some keywords. Also, keep an eye on what hashtags your members are using when creating posts to know what’s popular. That said, don’t go overboard with hashtags.

As a rule of thumb, it’s generally recommended to add no more than two to three hashtags to your Facebook posts. You don’t want to look like a spammer, after all, Facebook is not Instagram so don’t go crazy on hashtags. According to Facebook’s guidelines, you should use only one or a few hashtags to keep it simple. In this context, it’s probably safe to say that a few hashtags means two three, or four, although it’s not a universal interpretation.

Needless to say, even a small group can have a big engagement rate.

On top of everything I said, I think this is one of the criteria Facebook uses when recommending groups or placing them at the top of the search when there are groups with identical names. This is only an assumption but I’m talking from experience because one group I had started growing rapidly after I had two group experts creating many quality posts daily for months.

Throughout the years, I’ve tested countless addons for WotLK 3.3.5 but not every one of them works on Warmane. This is precisely why you can’t just download any random 3.3.5 addon you find on the Internet.

Also, there are hundreds of addons to choose from but not all are essential.

Moreover, there are original WotLK addons that have been improved to be a perfect match for Warmane.

What are WoW addons?

AddOns (sometimes called addons, add-ons, or mods) are collections of Lua/XML code that augment, modify, or replace World of Warcraft’s default user interface.

So, why would you need addons? Well, addons are helpful in absolutely every WoW experience.

This includes:

• leveling & questing,
• selling items through the auction house,
• PvE,
• PvP,
• profession skilling,
• gathering herbs and minerals for gold,
• having a clean UI,
• etc.

To sum it up, addons make your WoW life much easier.

What is Warmane?

Warmane is (primarily) a WotLK Private Server.

Playing on a private WoW server has pros and cons.

While it is free, it’s privately owned, so you might encounter bugs or downtime of servers. In addition, Warmane lets players buy in-game items on their website, which can ruin someone’s PvP experience.

Warmane WotLK realms

Warmane has 4 WotLK realms where you can play.

Those are:

• Icecrown, the most popular Warmane WotLK realm with 12 000 players active almost at any time of the day. Icecrown is a 7 EXP rate and 3x professions rate. As a result, you will level up and skill professions way faster.
• Frostmourne, the newest addition to their realms that makes for a great seasonal experience. Depending on when you join, you can experience full-power progress of Naxxrammas, Ulduar, Trial of the Crusader, Icecrown Citadel, or Ruby Sanctum.
• Lordaeron, a blizzlike realm that doesn’t have a 30% buff aura in Icecrow Citadel. You can, of course, play casually there, but don’t expect relatively easy progress in Icecrown Citadel/Ruby Sanctum like on Icecrown realm. You will need to tryhard if you want to kill heroic bosses here.
• Blackrock, the best realm if you are only interested in PvP. You will get an instant 80 level and starting gear so you can go to battlegrounds or arenas right away.

In total, there are over 20 000 players online at any given time during the day.

1. Zidras’s DBM

Deadly Boss Mode, better known as DBM, is among the must-have PvE addons. It will show you helpful tips during boss encounters so you don’t fail any tactic. This includes things like timers for every boss mechanic, telling you to move away from bad stuff, range checks, and much more.

This DBM is modified for Warmane’s servers and works on Icecrown Frostmourne, and Lordaeron realms. Zidras frequently updates this addon and improves the timers or adds new useful features.

That being said, Zidras DBM is greatly improved compared to the original version of the DBM addon for 3.3.5. Not only timers are correct for Warmane’s servers but it also has extended functionality.

That includes:

• voice speech pack that guides you during boss encounters,
• automatic equipping/unequipping of weapons if you are targetted by Lady Deathwhisper’s mind control (this mechanic has the potential to wipe the raid if you are a melee/hunter and leave your weapons on),
• automatic removal of certain buffs that could prevent your guildmates from crowd controlling you if you are targetted by Lady Deathwhisper’s MC,
• custom options for pretty much every warning.

2. Skada Revisited for WoTLK

Skada is a modular damage meter that has segmented fights, multiple viewing modes, and resizable windows. It strives to be extremely memory and CPU efficient.

Players who have been using the default, old Skada will be shocked by how accurately and easily they can track things with this improved, revisited Skada.

There are also other features that you can set up like:

• death log (the last hit a player took before dying),
• reporting fails,
• announcing interrupts,
• announcing parry haste,
• counting sunder armor,
• threat warning with flash screen and sound,
• pre-potion,
• first hit on the boss.

Just play with the options and I’m sure you will find a way to customize it according to your liking.

3. Bunny67’s Weak Aura 2 

Weak Auras (WA) is another important PvE addon that can boost your gameplay.

Bunny 67’s WA is a powerful and versatile framework that enables the display of highly customized visuals to show buffs, debuffs, and other vital information on World of Warcraft’s user interface.

Originally designed as a simple alternative to Power Auras, this addon has recently added more features while still being effective and simple to use.

Lunminas was so kind that he actually made Weak Auras for every class and spec. Find them all here.

To import the auras, install the addon, launch WoW, and type /wa. Then click on Import and copy the code from the Pastebin file. After that, click on Done.

4. SnowfallKeyPress

SnowfallKeyPress is essential not only in PvE but also in PvP. With the help of this addon, key bindings are accelerated so that they are activated by key press rather than key release.

You don’t have to do anything with this addon, it will work right out of the box.

5. Healbot

Everyone would agree that no matter what spec you play, you should have some kind of raid frames. Whether you use Grid, Vodoo, or Healbot is up to you, but I find it easiest to heal and track things with Healbot.

Based on the name, you can already tell that this addon was primarily created for healers. But the best thing about Healbot is that you don’t have to be a healer to use it. Healbot allows you to easily track even significant debuffs in addition to customizing the bars to your preferences. You don’t even need to be familiar with the addon because most of them are even configured by default.

Some of Healbot’s most useful features are:

• casting any beneficial spells with various mouse combinations,
• monitoring for the removal of debuffs (magic, poison, curse, disease),
• monitoring for missing buffs,
• customizable debuffs and icons for spells.

6. Omen

Omen is a threat meter. You have to use some threat meter addon, whether it be Skada (Threat Window) or Omen if you play tanks or DPS. It’s useful for healers as well, especially if you are a holy paladin because of the spell Hand of Salvation.

The reason why I put Omen in 6th place is that you can track your Threat efficiently in Skada.

However, certain classes and specs can benefit from Omen more than from Skada Threat Meter. For example, mages will see their aggro even when they cast Mirrored Images, it will be just greyed out.

7. Tidy Plates

Default WoW nameplates are kinda ugly.

Tidy Plates solves this issue by making them tidy and neat.

One of the most important features of this addon is the threat indicator also called tug-o’-threat. When this option is turned on, enemy nameplates’ color will change according to your aggro: blue for loose (safe) color and orange for aggro color.

In addition, you can change your health text mode, see the threat wheel, or turn on the text level & enemy class icon.

To toggle enemy nameplates on, press V.

8. Quartz

Quartz changes your default cast bar and transforms it into a neater cast bar for your target and focus. It can also track latency, pets, buffs, GCD, and other useful information.

Type /quartz to bring up the configuration menu.

9. OmniCC

By default, there are only analogue cooldowns. But with OmniCC, you will see a digital timer, meaning that it will add text to items, spells, and abilities that are on cooldown to indicate when they will be ready to use.

This addon is incredibly handy for both PvP and PvE and it’ll work right off the bat.

10. GearScore

I hate to say it but the GearScore addon is one of the must-have addons for Warmane WotLK 3.3.5.

It’s useful when you are being recruited to the guild as officers/recruiters ask you not only about your PvE/PvP experience but also about your gearscore (gs) and also if you want to raid outside of the guild with PUG (PickUp Groups).

The higher the number, the better. Gs indicates how strong your gear is.

Final Thoughts

While there are hundreds of WotLK 3.3.5 addons that work on Warmane, in reality, you need only a handful of them.

What is an author slug?

First, let’s clarify what is an author slug.

According to Brandon Allen, the author of Edit Author Slug, on standard WordPress installs, it’s the final part of an author permalink. For example, https://example.com/author/author-slug/

In relation to WordPress internals, the author slug is the same as the user_nicename field found in a WP_User object or the user table in the database.

It’s logical that most WordPress website owners want to choose their custom author slugs and the importance grows the more users you have on your website.

How to Change the Author Slug

For the purpose of this tutorial, I am going to be using one of the easiest WordPress plugins for changing the author slug: Edit Author Slug. This plugin has over 100 000 active installations and a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. The best thing is that it’s free and tested by many people. I personally use it on both of my websites and I have never had any issues.

Edit Author Slug is an easy plugin to set up and use and does exactly what it states in its title. There is also no unnecessary bloat so your website’s speed won’t be affected.

First of all, log in to your WordPress Admin Area and head to Plugins. Search for Edit Author Slug, then Install and Activate the plugin.

To customize your own author slug, visit your profile page. This also applies to other users. If you are the admin, you can change any author slug by simply going to the Users tab. Once you’ve picked the user you want to modify, click on Edit.

Scroll down and find Edit Author Slug.

There, you have multiple options for how to adjust the author slug. You can do it according to the above profile information that they or you have filled out or create their/your custom author slug.

Now, if you are fine with the default author base (the /author/ part of the author URL), you can leave it at that. But you can also change that portion if you really want to.

How to Change the Author Base of the Author URL

To change the author base, go to Settings » Edit Author Slug.

Here, you can change it to anything you want. I like to keep it at default, though.

You can also opt-in to have a role-based author base.

WordPress comes with six pre-defined roles:

• Super Admin,
• Administrator,
• Editor,
• Author,
• Contributor,
• and Subscriber.

When you set the user’s Author Base according to their role, it will basically add the %ba_eas_author_role% rewrite tag to customize the role-based author base.

If you set the author base to cutiepie/%ba_eas_author_role%, the resulting author structure will be http://example.com/cutiepie/role-slug/author-slug.

There is also an option to change the role slugs for all six pre-defined roles above.

So let’s say you are the administrator and chose your role slug to “cutie”. Your author slug has already been changed to “kitsune” and your author base is “cutiepie”.

The changes described above would result in something like this: http://example.com/cutiepie/cutie/kitsune

Apart from these two simple yet useful features, the plugin also offers a function for Automatic Author Slug Creation.

How to Automatically Update Author Slugs

Let me start by saying that this is a fancy feature that will override any manual Author Slug changes you’ve made. With this function enabled, people that frequently change their profiles could also hurt the SEO of your website, so be careful with this one.

For those that have decided to proceed, you can set the author slug structure for users from the following:

• username (default)
• nickname
• displayname
• firstname
• lastname
• firstname-lastname
• lastname-firstname
• userid
• hash

When you tick off the automatic updating, it will work only when a user can’t edit Author Slugs on their own.

Then there is also a bulk updater, which will update all users at once according to the author slug structure that you chose. Once you hit save, it will take effect.

Final Thoughts

While WordPress should really integrate a feature for editing the author slug, we can now stick to plugins to do the job to stay on the safer side. After all, the majority of bloggers aren’t developers but rather regular folks who like to write about their passions.

Luckily, you don’t have to be a pro to change the author slug. With a little help from a lightweight yet useful plugin like Edit Author Slug, you can easily make the adjustments you need.

Despite the fact that Picrew is in Japanese, I really enjoyed creating my anime avatar; it was also quite easy and enjoyable. Google Translate will assist you if you don’t understand something. Because I wanted to give my anime avatars distinct faces, outfits, and hairstyles, I spent a lot of time on it—probably more than I would want to admit.

So not only does Picrew have the most anime character avatars to choose from but you can also use many for commercial use for free! In any case, always translate what the artist says at the beginning because there you’ll find the terms and conditions for using the specific avatar.

I’ve already written about some tricks and tips on how to make your Discord aesthetic. But it was getting rather long, so I decided to make a separate tutorial about embeds.

Now, embeds are not an absolute must-have. But if you want to achieve the best results & create an immensely beautiful Discord server, you want to consider using them.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

How to make embeds in Discord without a bot

Let’s not complicate things and start with creating embeds in a plain way: without using any bot.

To create embeds in Discord without a bot means creating embeds with a webhook. Webhooks are helpful because they let you post messages from other websites or apps into Discord.

First, let’s create a Webhook for a specific channel where you will post your Embed.

Select the desired text channel and click on Edit Channel.

Then go to Integration » Webhooks » New Webhook » Copy Webhook URL.

Open your preferred website browser and go to https://discohook.org/. Click on Clear All so we have a blank slate.

Paste the previously copied Webhook into the Webhook URL window.

Find Add Embed button » Embed 1 » Body.

Make sure to pick a pretty color for the vertical line on the left side of your embed.

You can also apply any fancy Discord formatting as this will beautify your Discord embed.

It’s also possible to edit the profile, which will edit the name and pic of who posted the embedded message. The Webhook we created will be edited to fit your needs.

You can pick any avatar/name you like. But be careful because if you want to edit this embedded message in the future, you won’t be able to change the profile anymore.

After you are done, press Send.

This will send this embedded message to the channel you chose.

I recommend you also create a backup for later. At the top left, click on Backups » Input Backup name » Save. This way, you can edit it later.

How to edit an existing embed with Discohook

The most convenient would be to load your existing embed from your backup.

Go to https://discohook.org/, click on Backups and Load the desired backup.

Now, edit the embed according to your needs and open the Discord server with the embedded message you want to edit.

Hover over the embed, click on three dots, and copy the message link.

Scroll down in Discohook and paste this message link to the Message Link window.

To finish the editing process, scroll to the top and click on Edit.

This means that your already created embed will be edited instead of reposted.

If you don’t have a backup saved, you can do it from a blank slate, the only difference will be that you’ll have to manually input the text and copy the Webhook URL for that specific channel as we learned previously.

How to embed images with Discohook

You can add pictures to your embeds in two ways:

1. Files
2. Embed » Images

For example, let’s say you want to add a Rules banner to the top before your embedded rules.

Files let you upload the image directly from your PC. This will be displayed before your embed. However, it won’t be an embedded picture but rather a plain picture.

The Images field that can be found under Embed allows posting embedded pictures.

You’ll need to input a valid Image URL for this to work.

Pro Tip: I usually just upload the picture to my hidden Discord text channel, click on the image, open the original, and copy that image link. Make sure you don’t delete this image from your Discord text channel later.

You want to put the image URL to Embeds » Images » Image URLs.

Also, move this embed with the image to the top if it’s not already there.

How to send a hyperlink in Discord embed

Discord currently doesn’t support hyperlinks by default. The exception is an embedded message where you can insert hyperlinks with no problem.

To add a hyperlink, simply copy this format:

It will look like this:

How to add custom emojis to an embed in Discord

Did you know that custom emojis (those that you have exclusively on your Discord server) can be also added to your embeds?

The default emojis will work flawlessly just by copying them. I usually use EmojiDB for that.

To take it to the next level, you can add a custom emoji to your embed, make sure you have developer mode on, and go to any text test channel.

To turn the developer mode on, click on the User Settings cog in the bottom left corner. Go to Advanced under APP SETTINGS. Toggle Developer Mode on.

Click on emojis and select the one you want to use in your embed, then add a backslash \ before the emoji and press enter.

It will look in your text channel like this:

Copy this emoji ID according to your needs to your embed. You can add as many custom emojis as needed.

The custom emoji in the embed will end up looking like this:

The same logic applies to adding your Discord server’s roles and channels to your embed.

When you tag a user or a voice/text channel and add backslash \ before them then press enter, you will see their ID for your embed.

How to make Discord embeds using Carl-bot

It’s no secret that one of my favorite bots is Carl-bot. I use it for reaction roles, automod, logging, welcome messages, and more.

But did you know that you can also easily create embeds with Carl-bot?

Carl-bot has an embed builder. It can be found under the Utility tab on the bot’s official website.

It’s even simpler than Discohook since you don’t have to create a Webhook nor Profile.

You simply put whatever you want to the Description and Title, choose a color of your embed in the Toggle color picker, and choose a destination channel. Voilà, you are done!

Just don’t be surprised because your embed will be posted by Carl-bot.

How to edit an embed created with Carl-bot

I thought it was not possible to edit the Carl-bot embeds but I learned differently through Aeno’s Youtube channel.

To edit an embed created with Carl-bot, hover over the embed, click on three dots and then Copy ID.

If you are in the same text channel, you don’t have to add the channel as I did in the picture below.

Follow this format: !embedsource Message ID

If you are editing from a different text channel, simply tag the channel where the embedded message is after the Channel ID.

Now, you will have the code you need for editing.

Head over to Carl-bot’s official website, Utility » Embeds » Raw JSON (this is located in the Preview tab at the right top). Paste the copied code and click on Apply.

Now, you don’t want to repost this embedded message but rather edit it.

First of all, make the desired changes to your embed.

Secondly, go to Preview again and click on Copy to clipboard.

Open Pastebin and paste the code, set paste exposure to unlisted, and click on Create New Paste.

Next, copy the Pastebin URL you’ve just created.

You’ll again head to any text channel and type the following:

!ecembed Message ID Pastebin URL

If you are not in the text channel where the embed is located, tag the channel where your embed is before the Pastebin URL. Press Enter.

Subsequently, Carl-bot will give you “Edited message!” feedback if it was implemented correctly.

How to make Discord embeds with the Mimu bot

Mimu Bot offers a cute currency system but it’s also widely used for creating Discord embeds.

Please note that you can have only up to 5 embeds with the free version of Mimu.

To delete your old, unused embeds, use /embed delete embed:embedname

To create an embed with the Mimu bot, type /embed create. Choose a short and memorable name for your embed.

You can edit most things there, it’s a very similar but simplified creation of embeds compared to Discohook.

By default, the author will be Mimu, which is fine but you can click on Edit the author to change their name and picture.

The most essential things can be edited with Edit the basic information button.

Since there is no color picker, use a website with hex color codes to pick the fitting color for your embed.

Then simply click on Submit and this will send/edit the embed information.

Great thing is that you can edit all of your embeds later with the support commands under the embed.

But you might be now wondering how to set up Admin Assist on Facebook effectively.

In this guide, we’ll learn how to set up admin assist and also go over the basic Admin Assist rules that are suitable for almost every Facebook group.

Best Rules for Admin Assist on Facebook

Managing posts and comments can be a headache. Many people and bot accounts try to spam Facebook groups with irrelevant or damaging content and it can be exhausting to deal with that daily.

I have more than 30 Facebook groups with thousands of members, the biggest one has 87 000 members. If there was no Admin Assist, I am unsure how I would moderate all of that with the help of only a few moderators.

That having been said, I’ve learned that I will spend significantly less time moderating Facebook groups with the following Admin Assist rules.

No matter what kind of group you have, you can use the following rules in any Facebook group and they should work flawlessly. You might want to tweak them a bit but they should work just fine out of the box.

To turn the Admin Assist on, head to the Homepage » Groups » Groups you manage. Pick the group you want to set up Admin Assist for.

You should now see Community Home in the left sidebar. Click on Admin Assist under Admin tools.

Now you’ll see all kinds of different Admin Assist criteria/rules.

1. Manage posts

Decline incoming post if is the most important of them all. This setting means that the post will be declined automatically if it matches the criteria you set.

You might want to also pair it with Optional settings. I always tick off Notify author and give feedback. This will ensure that the offender knows why their post has been removed. You don’t have to write anything there, Facebook will automatically specify the reason. Your identity also won’t be revealed, only the group’s.

Click on Add » Create your Own and turn on the following rules:

• Post has 1 or more credit card numbers
• Post has 1 or more email addresses
• Author has been reported 3 times or more in the past 28 days
• Post has certain keywords (18+, gc, group chat)
• Post has a link
• Post includes false information checked by independent fact-checkers
• Post has 1 or more phone numbers
• Author has violated group rules in the past 28 days
• Post has reshared content from outside the group

Most of these rules are pretty straightforward and self-explainable. All of the posts matching those criteria will be automatically declined by Admin Assist.

The following Admin Assist rules might require some tweaking:

Post has certain keywords: You might want to add more keywords to decline on top of the ones that I provided. This should be based on the posts that you usually decline and what’s the common words in spam posts.

Post has reshared content from outside the group: This setting means that any reshared post (be it from the user’s timeline or another Facebook group), will be declined automatically. As a result, members will have to create posts only within the Facebook group. Very useful if they share inappropriate pictures or videos. I sometimes don’t turn this on but it really depends on the spam level of your group.

Link to specific sites: This hasn’t been added by default because I provided a template where we use Post has a link. But in case you don’t enable Post has a link rule, you can choose specific sites. Consequently, any post with a link to the specified sites will be automatically declined.

Then set up Remove published post if to Post has been reported 3 times or more. You might want to consider other options (1-5) but I found the default to work just fine.

When it comes to turning off commenting it’s useful in certain situations. I recommend turning on Post has been reported 3 times or more but also consider adding Post has received 100 comments or more in the past hour. This can prevent conflict/spam.

2. Manage comments

Another Admin Assist rule that needs to be set up is Manage comments. Those are even harder to manage without Admin Assist because if the group is bigger, you might have hundreds if not thousands of new comments on lots of posts daily.

To effectively manage comments in Facebook groups, turn on the following Admin Assist rules:

• Comments has a link that was removed by admins in your groups within the past 7 days
• Comments has a video
• Author has violated group rules in the past 28 days
• Author has been reported 3 times or more in the past 28 days
• Comment has a link that’s been shared 5 times by the same author in different groups
• Comment has a link

3. Manage people

For private groups that have membership questions set up, there is an option to automatically approve member requests if they’ve answered all membership questions.

This is also a useful automatic rule that’ll save you a lot of time approving members.

Public groups have a different setting: Suspend person for 1 day if. The default options should work pretty well for most groups.

Person has had 10 comments removed by admins in the past 24 hours will automatically suspend people for 1 day if they’ve had 10 comments removed recently.

Person has 3 posts removed by admins in the past 24 hours will automatically suspend people for 1 day if they’ve had 3 posts removed recently.

How to know if Admin Assist works?

This is a valid question and you can check if Admin Assist works properly either after a few hours or days, depending on the activity of your group.

Again, you’ll go to your Facebook group and then click on Activity Log.

This will open the whole Activity Log where you can see actions performed by every Moderator/Admin. This includes Admin Assist.

To filter only actions from Admin Assist, click on More filters and toggle on Admin Assist.

This will show you all actions taken by Admin Assist.

You can also check out See details, which will show you what post was taken down. As always, you are in control, and you can undo this action or change the rules according to the group’s needs.

How to set up EWWW Image Optimizer

To use EWWW Image Optimize effectively, we’ll follow these easy steps. But before we start, make sure to create a backup of your website in case anything goes wrong.

Installation

First of all, go to your WordPress admin area. Then, navigate to Plugins » Add New » Search Plugins… » Type “EWWW Image Optimizer” » Install now.

After you’ve installed EWWW Image Optimizer, Activate the plugin.

It’ll automatically open a wizard that’ll walk you through some of the settings but you can also set everything by yourself.

If you click on “I know what I’m doing, leave me alone!”, you’ll need to go to the Plugin section where you need to open Settings of EWWW Image Optimizer.

You’ll be taken to the Basic settings in the easy mode where you’ll have a few options.

Basic settings for decreasing the image size

1. Remove all Metadata

First of all, you want to tick off Remove Metadata. This strips off all metadata.

Simply removing the metadata will reduce the image size, but will not change the quality of the images.

2. WebP Conversion

Secondly, scroll down to WebP Conversion and check it off.

If you are not using Cloudflare, you’ll see an option Insert Rewrite Rules under WebP Delivery Method.

The red PNG icon will turn into a green WEBP one if it was successful.

As an alternative, you have the option of using the JS WebP Rewriting or Picture WebP Rewriting methods for WebP delivery. These work, but a little more slowly than the .htaccess approach.

If you are using Cloudflare, you’ll have the option to use either JS WebP or Picture WebP rewriting to prevent broken images on older browsers.

Check off JS WebP Rewriting.

3. Resize Uploaded Images

Another setting you might want to take a look at is Resize Images.

WordPress, your theme, and other plugins generate different versions of images with various sizes. You can check it out in the Resize tab if you have ludicrous mode enabled.

I, for example, know that I am using 768-width pictures in my articles and homepage. As a result, I set it to this number. You might want to implement a similar strategy when considering these parameters.

To sum it up, this setting basically resizes all of the images that are wider or taller than these values to the set values.

Take your image compression to the next level

1. Enable Ludicrous Mode

By enabling Ludicrous Mode, you’ll have a chance to work with more advanced settings.

A notable setting for even better compression can be found in the Advanced tab.

2. Adjust JPG & WebP Quality Level

Scroll down and set JPG Quality Level and WebP Quality Level to your desired number. The lower the number, the lower the image size (but also the quality). You’ll want to balance it out according to your content and how much quality you are willing to sacrifice.

On this website, we’re using 85 for both because the text needs to be clear enough since this is a website with tutorials.

However, my other website is picture-heavy with no need for such quality, so we set the WebP Quality Level to 50. You can check the quality of the pictures in the article to see how it looks.

As you can see, it compressed the original picture by 44.7% and is serving the 52.2 KB version instead.

3. Automatically Convert PNG to JPG

Another setting to turn on is located in Convert » PNG to JPG Conversion.

JPG/JPEG files are smaller in size in comparison to PNG files. But as it states, it’s not a lossless conversion, so you’ll be sacrificing a bit of quality.

Bulk optimization

The free version can optimize all of your existing images but you’ll have to go to the Basic tab and either click on Bulk Optimizer in the right upper corner or next to the text describing Resize Image/WebP Conversion.

You’ll be taken to the Bulk Optimize section where you’ll click on Scan for unoptimized images.

The scanner will start automatically and show you how many images you can optimize.

Press Optimize images and it’ll automatically start optimizing your images.

It will take quite a while if you have a lot of images uploaded.

Testing whether the WebP is served

To check whether it’s serving the WebP images properly, open some of your articles with pictures and right-click on the image, and copy the image address. Open a new window and paste, then press Enter.

It should show you a .webp at the end of the image address.

In this example, the website serves the WebP version of the picture, so it’s working well.

Lazy Load

Lazy Load reduces both the actual and perceived loading times of the website by only loading images when they are about to enter the viewport.

To turn Lazy Load in EWWW Image Optimizer, go to Basic » Lazy Load. Tick off both Improve actual and perceived loading time and Automatic Scaling and test it on both phone and a PC.

All information regarding Lazy Load can be found in the documentation on EWWW IO’s official website.

1. Get screenshots

First and foremost, you need to take screenshots of the scene/character you want to stitch. Try to opt for a high-quality website/download for the best results.

Press Windows Key + Prtsc every time you take screenshots. They will be saved in the Images folder. Ensure that they all OVERLAP.

The above example is Shinju Inui from My Dress Up Darling. The camera was moving from the bottom to the top when I was taking them. Sometimes, it will take quite a bit of time to capture all of them when the camera is moving fast.

2. Anime Stitching

There are a few ways how to make anime stitches but I’m going to talk only about the free and easy ones.

You’ll need one of the following programs:

• Microsoft ICE
• Overmix
• Autostitch

All of them work, although there are differences in the results. And don’t worry, they are all automatic, so you don’t have to have any specific knowledge to use them.

Microsoft ICE

My first choice has always been Microsoft ICE. It is the most robust in the size but the truth is that I have achieved the best results with it.

To stitch anime images in Microsoft ICE, open the program ➩ File ➩ New Panorama ➩ Add all the screenshots you want to stitch ➩ Export to disk.

I usually keep Stitch Automatic and I prefer to set my export options to JPEG Image and Quality to 100. The process is automatic and seamless.

Autostitch

The program called Autostitch is also very precise but you’ll have to crop your images after it’s done.

To create an anime stitch, open Autostitch and add at least 2 images by clicking on the first blue folder. It will automatically save and open it after the stitching is done.

After I’m done, I immediately open the 3D Paint Application on Windows and Crop it there because that’s the fastest way.

Overmix

Lastly, there is Overmix. It usually works fine but there were instances when it couldn’t stitch the images properly for me & I achieved better results with the previous two tools.

To make anime anime stitches in Overmix, open the program ➩ Files ➩ Add the anime images you want to stitch together ➩ Align & Draw ➩ Save.
